Mindfulness and meditation are closely related practices that share common goals but differ in their emphasis and application. Both have been shown to have positive effects on mental health, but they approach this in distinct ways.

All about anxiety
Many of us are familiar with feelings of worry and have also experienced anxiety, with it being the most common mental disorder in Australia . At lightdespite we work with our clients to manage the impact that anxiety has on their quality of life, and like to demystify what it is and why it’s so common.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
At lightdespite we use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) as one of our therapeutic approaches. We love working with ACT as it is practical, flexible, great for a range of mental health challenges and empirically-supported.
